Meet Dr. Pitcher

Dr. Pitcher has longstanding ties to the Rochester area. He was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School. After graduating magna cum laude from Loyola College in Maryland, he attended dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) graduating summa cum laude. He has received numerous awards and honors including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Implant Award, Outstanding Clinical Achievement Award, William L. Tucker Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Anthony S. Gugino Award for Excellence in Dental Anatomy and Occlusion, and the George B. Snow Award for Prosthodontics. He was also inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

Dr. Pitcher completed his training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC which is widely regarded as one of the elite training programs in the country. In his final year of training, Dr. Pitcher served as Chief Resident in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition to training at Medstar Washington Hospital Center which is Washington, DC’s largest hospital and level-1 trauma center, he also worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Johns Hopkins Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

Dr. Pitcher lectured internationally about orthognathic surgery at the 2015 International Conference on Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains a substantial focus on comprehensive dental implant reconstruction with the most current technology and imaging. He has also lectured for continuing education courses that concentrate on the application of digital technology for dental implant surgery. He is extremely well-trained and educated in the care of implant patients; not only routine patients, but also those with the most complex and compromised situations. Dr. Pitcher has special expertise in immediate placement and loading of implants and delivering immediate transitional restorations.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Pitcher maintains a part time clinical faculty position in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

When Dr. Pitcher is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife at the local farmer’s markets, going hiking, or fishing on the finger lakes.
